JAY WALTON – 150 Club Games

JAY WALTON – 150 Club Games

This weekend while we have the Prime Train Game (thanks to Kakurrka resources) in the league fixture, we will also be having the Past His Prime Game in Walts 150th Club game in the reserves game at 1pm.

Walt came to the club in the season of 2011 when we were fresh off a league grand final appearance the season before. He was the basketball guy that had decided it was finally time to give footy a try and he slotted in straight away into our league team.

Undoubtedly Walt’s best year was ten years ago when he transformed himself from a highly rated League fullback to take out our League leading goal kicker award in 2015.

In that same year at a club fundraiser, he was sensationally beaten in the final of an arm wrestling tournament by the unlikely Sam ‘Willis’ Wilmore in a marathon contest.

However, he redeemed himself in the following week’s Mad Monday Shirtfront Competition, taking out the title when he upended Coach and club legend Rob Lawson in the front bar of the Boathouse.

After some really consistent seasons in the forward line, in 2018, Walt nearly took out our league best and fairest – coming runner up to Lachie Bray.

Over the years Walt has always worn his heart on his sleeve for the club and famously hates to lose. After a few seasons away from the club it’s been great to have Walt and his family back around the club this season and Walt’s dedication has even been rewarded with the Reserves Captaincy.

Walt’s 150 Club games consists of 120 League games and 30 Reserves games. Those games have seen him kick 119 goals (77 League and 42 Ressies).

Get down to the Prime Train Game early this weekend to catch Walt in his 150th club game and celebrate with him after! Congratulations Walty and good luck in your big game mate!
